Kelly Cowan
INSTRUCTOR
Kelly Cowan has been teaching yoga in Winnipeg since 2018. She is trained in both Vinyasa & Restorative yoga. She currently teaches at the newest studio in our city, Open Concept Yoga. Her classes are strong yet graceful, fiery yet fluid, she considers all levels of asana, and is driven to have her students feel the flow, gain personal perspectives, and deepen their relationship with themselves.
Her love for yoga came from our local community (2009 – 2016), the amount of talent and passion within our city motivated her to receive her 200hr teacher training (2016) right here in Winnipeg. Led by Liane Cherrett and her incredible Empowerment Project - Embodied Vinyasa Training, the idea of having access to her teacher and continuing that relationship after training was what supported her in making that decision. She then followed with her Restorative Teacher Training (2020) to create a sense of balance within her own practice.
Kelly’s why for practicing and guiding yoga: She believes the connection between breath and movement gets you in a place where you learn more about yourself. When you’re open to the journey of truly knowing yourself, you gain more compassion, generosity, love, and strength. Then you bring that off the mat into your life, your relationships, your love. Imagine what’s possible for the world when you return to this space more and more.
