Bénédicte LeMaître

INSTRUCTOR

Bénédicte has studied yoga around the world in its many different expressions. She has 500 hours of teacher training, and nearly a decade of academic study of the yoga tradition. She holds a Master's degree in Religious Studies.

It was a study trip to India in 2012 which sparked Bénédicte’s disciplined yoga practice. She fell in love with Ashtanga and the constancy of the practice accompanied by the choreographed dance-like flow of the series, set to the soundtrack of steady breath. As her asana practice developed, so did her curiosity, eventually leading her to complete her Honours degree in Religious studies. She has had the privilege of studying areas such as the Yoga Tradition, Guru and Disciple History, as well as Indian Philosophy and Advaita Vedanta under the insightful Dr. Ian Whicher.

Upon graduation from her honours, Bénédicte completed her 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training. A few years later, she completed her 300 hours Yoga Teacher Training, and also received her Master's degree in Religious studies.

Coming from a background in both philosophy & dance; anatomy, alignment, and wholeness are integral to her as a teacher. Bénédicte has learned from many excellent teachers over the years and is grateful for all of their guidance. She continues to be inspired by those around her- by students who are teachers, and by teachers who are students- especially here in Winnipeg. Peace.
